It's me again with more stuff

Firstly I wanted to thank you all for the very kind comments you have left on my last post. It really warms my heart to read them.

I didn't post yesterday because I had a Sampler Guild get-together at my house which was just amazing. Everyone that came is just so talented and we are all such great friends and all through stitching.


This is what I couldn't show you before, and I have pictured it on the fabric which is the backing fabric, because it was for my friend

Carol (that is her on the left)

as a belated Christmas present and I know she looks on my blog all the time and I didn't want her to see what I had stitched. I loved every single stitch I put in this and Carol actually was going to cry when I gave it to her and I said to her 'don't you dare' because there were loads of people here. She is one of the sweetest people I know and so deserved this and I am so fortunate to count her as a friend.

I will show you in the week what she gave me because I haven't taken a photo of it yet and my camera battery ran out and it's charging now.



This is my Blackbird Designs 'Where Your Heart Blooms' stitched over one (which I have shown you before) finished with the trim and on its' stick thingy which was made by Bloom Woodworks.

I received a Blog Award - see if you have

received one from me. I received this from Cindy and am so thrilled by it I just can't tell you. I have had some really difficult times lately and she has been my rock along with some others I have grown to love via this blog for which I shall always be really grateful.

Sorry about the no stitching photo but I have done one thing and I can't share it with you until a week from Saturday because it is a present and another will be done by then that I can't share until then either. it was a freebie from The Sampler Girl and I believe it is still available to download if you want it. I have checked on her website and it is no longer available there but I do have if anybody wants it just ask and it shall be yours.

I know another post and this time ...

... with a brand new picture of my stitching which is much more better (you can't say betterer so much more better is better than better) than the last one I put on here.



It is, of course, by Merry Cox and it is The Diminuitive Sewing Set and this is the first part I have done. I haven't done that much on it because my MS has returned and this time in my right arm which is new for me it usually affects my left side so it hasn't been that easy to stitch but don't worry I am persevering.

I also wanted to give a HUGE Thank You to everyone that responded to my plea for The Peacock Spot Sampler. Now I usually don't like peacocks much but I do love this little sampler and will be starting it any day now and will show you progress of it as I stitch and it will be really nice to stitch over two for a while after all the over one I have been doing of late.

I am so desperate for this ...

and it is called Peacock Sampler by Ewe & I & Friends and I really really need this. Ok I could buy this from a store in France but they want €10.00 + p&p for it and that's like £10.00 or $15.00 plus p&p and I am on a really strict budget now - NO SPENDING AT ALL. That's not a budget that's DIE with a T. So no spending on anything stitch related and I promised him upstairs faithfully that I wouldn't spend so much as 1p or 1c or whatever you call the smallest Euro amount and I am really going to stick to this for once because I really need to go and see my brother in LA much more than I need any more stash. But I do really need this one so if anybody is willing to trade or loan it to me I would be eternally grateful. So if you want to trade me this instead of loaning it to me I would be prepared to send you anything I have for it. Now because my stash is so large it would be easier for you to ask me for what you want then for me to tell you what I have because it really is a lot.

Now this photo isn't mine and I am afraid I stole it from Mary Kathryn but it was one of the best ones I found and I do hope you forgive me but if you want me to take it off my blog of course I will.

PIF

Hi

I will be posting a new photo of stitching tomorrow but in the meantime nobody has signed up for my PIF (Pay It Forward) and if nobody does then I shall just stitch three things during the year and post them out as RAKs (Random Acts of Kindness) and when I am quite sure each one has been received I shall post their name with a link to their Blog under the PIF linklist to the right of here.

I know it's not what the rules say but hey it will be my way of fulfilling my obligation to Wendy Jo. So come on and like the Barker used (maybe still does for all I know) to shout at the Carneys way back when COME UP COME UP COME ONE AND ALL or I shall just do it my way - rather like Frank Sinatra! Oh and speaking of not putting a photo on here I have changed my mind and here is one of THE MAN himself with my late Father and Phil Silvers sticking his head through the two of them.



and the way that this happened was my Dad was in charge in entertaining the troops in WWII and Frank Sinatra didn't come from very far away from my Dad in New Jersey I guess they just hooked up because of that, except of course, FS was way way more important than my Dad - but NEVER in my eyes!

Another Finish and more

I know it's a new year but I just thought I would start as I mean to finish and start off with yet anohter finish to share with all you bloggers out there.


I stitched this wonderful Blackbird Designs Loose Feathers No. 29 and entitled Where My Heart Blooms. Now I stitched this over one so had to make a few adjustments but I really love it and it is a sort of stand-up. When the fix the back of it that holds it onto a spike thingy I will take another photo of it.



I was in a Secret Sister Santa exchange from Legacy Embroiderers Guild (just ask the very lovely Val and so long as you have a Yuko account you can join) and this was my exchange to Connie (whose Legacy ID is Katey2004) and I do hope she received it. I sent her, as you can see from the photo above and my favorite thing that I sent her, to be honest, was the book of Cockney Rhyming Slang as I thought that if she watched any British TV programs, especially Eastenders which is supposed to take place in the East End of London where this type of language is used all the time but in fact was filmed behind not my last house by the house before that which was in Borehamwood in the wilds of Hertfordshire (ok it isn't really wild - it's really quite sedate).


And this is what I got in exchange from Sherie Hagar, who's ID in Legacy is SherriSC) and I have to say I loved it all. It was just amazing and she must have read my mind. She sent me an overdyed piece of fabric which she edged for me, she just must have known how much I hate stitching on anything that isn't overlocked (serged), a Quaker Patter that I had been wanting for ages, a great Project bag which I had never seen before and I love it but the best thing of all was the little needle magnet and she had not idea how much I had been wanting one of those for when I stitch in hand, which is most of the time and it's gorgeous.




And last, but by no means least, this was my Christmas (Hannukah) present from me to me. It's the Merry Cox Americana Sewing Case which I had really really wanted and this is being done on an online class via Shining Needle Society like over 100 other stitchers from around the world and to say I am excited it putting it so mildly I just can't tell you.

Anyway until sometime next week I wish you a very Happy & Healthy 2009 and just wanted to thank everyone who leaves me comments because I really love reading what you have to say sooooo here is
